Lyrics to Suzuki Book 1 Songs

Pre-Suzuki Book 1 Songs

The following Pre-Suzuki Book 1 songs are designed to familiarize beginning violinists with the notes on the A and E strings, getting them ready for the first song in Suzuki Book 1- Twinkle Variations and Twinkle Theme. The Flower Song and The Monkey Song are both pieces of The Twinkle Variations and Theme.
Students should listen to their CDs everyday. Sing along to the CD with these lyrics to make it even more fun and to really get the songs in your head. This will make it easier to learn the songs on the violin!

And the F holes let it ring
Heres the front and heres the back
If I drop it, it might crack
So I hold it close beside me
Rest position you now see

Hello Mouse (Alternative lyrics to Lightly Row, we sing both!)

Hello Mouse, In your house
I am walking up your stairs
Hello Mouse-ie, in your House-ie
Open up and let me in!
Wont you let me eat your cheese?
On your sofa pretty please?
Hello Mouse-ie in your house-ie
Open up and let me in!

Perpetual Motion
Have you seen an alligator riding on an escalator?
I have seen an alligator riding on an elevator.

Have you seen a ballerina playing on her concertina?
I have seen a ballerina on her way to passadina.

Have you seen an armadillo sleeping on a big fat pillow?
Have you seen an armadillo sleeping on a big fat pillow?

Have you seen an alligator riding on an escalator?
I have seen an alligator riding on an elevator.

Allegretto

In the woods, far away, on a hot summers day
The three bears cabin stood, at the edge of the wood.
In the woods, far away, on a hot summers day
The three bears went away for a walk

First the big Papa bear
Then the kind Mama bear
Then behind, with his chair, came the small Baby bear

In the woods, far away, on a hot summers day
The three bears went away for a walk
"Andantino"

Suzuki is the right method to take
On our small instruments, music we make
Suzuki is the right method to take
After we finish this, take a small break

Make sure that you listen each day
This will really help you to play

Suzuki is the right method to take
After we finish this, take a small break
Henrietta Popoletta (to tune of Etude)

Henrietta Popoletta
Had a special friend, her name was
Wilhemina Windowcleaner
She had brought along her football
Henrietta Popoletta
Picked it up and threw it back to
Wilhemina Windowcleaner
And it crashed right through the window
Mother came right down the stairs and
Called to Father, Father came right
Down the stairs and quickly picked up
Henrietta Popoletta
Picked her up and scolded her and

Sent her off to bed!
